New !!! Leadership Development Programme (LDP) – As part of the school’s continuing effort to give students a well-rounded education the School has introduced the LDP.
The LDP aims to expose advanced students to the “real world” through lectures, discussions, debates, role-plays, handouts and group work on a variety of issues such as Leadership, Equality, Sexual Harassment/Abuse/Violence, Christian values, Citizens rights, Financial Planning, Caribbean Culture etc.
Students must also complete ten (10) hours of community service at an outside institution. This aspect of LDP was designed to instill in the students a desire to serve their community and because more tertiary institutions require some evidence of community involvement.
All students of the Upper Sixth Form will be required to participate in this programme. Upon completion the student must reflect on her experience (most express satisfaction at being able to serve, a greater understanding of the plight of the less fortunate and a new appreciation of their own position of privilege).
Also, upon completion of the required hours, the student will be awarded a certificate.
