Achievements
Jamaica Scholarship
Kathryn Innis has been awarded the 2007-2008 Jamaica Scholarship (female). Kathryn has had an outstanding school career and is now enrolled in the faculty of Medicine at the University of the West Indies.

University Schorlaships
Kathryn Lai and Kimberly Scott have been awarded Scholarships by the University of the West Indies based on their performance in the Scholarship examination for the academic year 2007 -2008.

Athletic Scholarship
Kristen Stewart received a Scholarship to the University of Mary in North Dacota USA while Decoda Waugh and Saleena Green received schorlarships at the University of Columbia USA for the academic year 2007 -2008.

Jamaica Independence Open Scholarship
Daynea Bowes (Head Girl 2005-2006) has been awarded the 2006-2007 Jamaica Independence Scholarship (Female) based on her performance in the CXC-CAPE 2006 examinations. Daynea is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education Degree (Special Education) at the University of the West Indies.

Jamaica Government Exhibition Scholarship
Astrid Scott (Senior Prefect 2005-2006) was awarded a Jamaica Government Exhibition Scholarship based on her performance in the UWI Scholarship Examinations 2006. Astrid is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages at the University of the West Indies.

Passes in CXC-CSEC (2007)
We are very pleased with the overall pass rate of 93% which shows a 2% increase over last year. We are also pleased that at 28%, we have recovered from last year’s decline in the percentage of subjects passed at grade1. In addition the number of grade 2’s has increased by 2% while there has been a 5% decline in the number of grade 3’s. The percentage of students passing 5 or more subjects has moved from 89% to 94% while 67% passed 8 or more an increase of 12%. Of the 25 subjects sat, 5 recorded pass rates of 100%, 17 recorded pass rates of 90% and 2 recorded pass rates of 80% and over. The top student for CSEC was Jenine Knibb with 9 distinctions

Passes in CXC-CAPE (2007)

We are equally pleased with the pass rate at the CAPE level. The percentage pass at both grades 12 & 13 is 95% an increase of 3% and 2% respectively over last year. Top students at grade 13 are Kathryn Innis and Kathryn Lai with 3 distinctions while the top student at Grade 12 is Tashanna Williams with 4 distinctions. Of the 29 units sat, 17 recorded pass rates of 100%, 9 recorded pass rates of 90% and over, 2 recorded pass rates of 80% and over.

GIS Geography Project Competition
Grade 13 students in the Geography Department placed first in the GIS Day/ Geography Project Competition held on November 15, 2006. They received a trophy and a cash award of $30,000. Joanna Brandon of 12N placed 2nd in the puzzle competition and Stephanie Abrahams of 12R placed 3rd in the quiz competitions that were also help on that day.

International Surfing Association
Imani Wilmot of 11N was one of five recipients from various regions across the world to be awarded a scholarship by the International Surfing Association. Imani is currently Jamaica's leading female surfer.

Adopt-An-Athlete Programme
Latoya McDermott is the first recipient of sponsorship under the Adopt-An-Athlete Programme organized by Mr. Garth Craig and sanctioned by the JAAA. Latoya who is a CARIFTA and Central American and Caribbean Under 17 champion has received sponsorship from Best for Less Ltd. which covers the cost of her education and gear for this school year. She was also a member of Jamaica's World Junior Championship 4x400m relay team that won a bronze medal at the games in Bejing, China in August 2006.

Interview- CVM TV
Vice President of Key Club International Stephanie Abrahams of 12R was a guest on CVM at Sunrise on November 14, 2006 as part of a feature on "Youth in Positions of Responsibility in Jamaica". She was also interviewed on RJR on November 22 and she met with the Governor General of Jamaica on Monday, November 20, 2006.

Annual Spanish Festival
The Annual Spanish Festival was held on February 16, 2007. The seniors won gold for their poem, song and dance, as well as the discourse/speech. The juniors won silver for their poem. The intermediate group won gold for their poem and silver for their song.

SPORTS

Badminton
The senior team dominated the league throughout the season and remained undefeated to be crowned champions of the high schools competition. In the Cable & Wireless Schools Knockout Competition, St. Andrew defeated The Queens School, St. Hugh's High School and Campion College to emerge champions.

Netball
Both senior and junior teams competed creditably in the ISSA Seconday Schools Competition held during the Christmas term. The senior team placed 3rd in the first round and the junior team placed 2nd which sent them through to the Urban Play-offs.

Hockey
The Hockey Team competed in the UWI-organized six-a-side tournament in January 2007 and won the high school section defeating Wolmers Girls 3-0. They also won the following awards: Most Disciplined Team, Top Goal Scorer- Stephanie Channer and Most Valuable Player- Ebony McLean. The Under 19 team placed 3rd in the ISSA/ JHF competition while the junior team made a successful start in defending their title in the Under 16 competition.

Volleyball
The Team participated in Volleyfest held at Wolmers High School for Girls in November 2006. They did fairly well and were awarded the Most Disciplined Team trophy. This team is currently involved in the ISSA competition and they are performing creditably.

Swimming
The Team placed 2nd in the ISSA Swim Meet held on Friday, December 1, 2006. Several students did their best times. Unfortunately the team did not participate in the Crimson Dawn Relays held in November 2006. At the Mayberry Swim Meet held on Friday, February 9, 2007, the team placed 2nd and won the trophy for having the most team spirit.

Water Polo
The senior team placed 2nd and the junior team placed 3rd overall in this year's school league competition held in the Christmas term. In the Inter-Schools Beach Polo competition held on March 4, 2007, the Under 19 team placed 3rd and the Under 15 team successfully defended their title to remain champions for a 2nd year.

INTERHOUSE COMPETITIONS

Swimming
Usually held on the Summer term, the swimming competition was held in October at the request of the P.E. Department. Results are as follows:

Gartshore Cup
This year's competition focused on the Visual Arts. The judges were very pleased with the exhibits. The results were:

The competition was held on Friday, December 1 and Monday, December 4, 2006 and the results were as follows:
